Despite some minor flaws, this is the best representation of what went down at Winterland in October of 1978 (short of an official Vault release which we can only hope for). All five shows come from soundboard sources of varying degrees of quality. Some sets are spliced together from various sources, with an audience patch at the end of 10/21/78 Stella Blue. There are some cuts due to cassette flips.

better than road trips
the climax of an amazing winterland run. after listening to "olin arrageed" and comparing to road trips, one can see how much they butchered it for official

release. Jerry's problably looking down and frowning at those commercial road trips. even with the great intro, the band still manages to reach more peaks during the jamming on mojo fadeaway

I'm pretty sure Ollin Arrageed is a song that they play for the bride and groom at Egyptian weddings. Anyhow this is a wonderfull show and recording.

Two words for you - Ollin Agrageed! Don't know what it means, don't care. This shit is the fly! This recording crackles and hums like a vault release.

This version here is full of Jerry licks, hand clapping, strange sitar likes soundings, Phil is dancing like a hippie chick all over this stuff... These shows should be a box set, why they dragged out a tired Egypt run I'll never know.
